Product Review

Roberts have always made great looking and sounding radios. The Roberts Stream 93i is no different in this respect.  It is beautifully engineered and the functions are clear and intuitive.  Its original RRP was £160 which is pretty good for a quality Roberts radio, but this has recently been discounted to £123.29 which now qualifies it as being a bargain.

The Roberts Stream 93i is an FM/DAB/internet radio that can also act as a streaming music player over USB, LAN or wi-fi connections, including spotify.  There are also ports for a 3.5mm
headphone jack and a standard 3.5mm auxiliary input.

The Stream 93i  also comes equipped with a remote control handset that you can use to control all the major features of the device.

For a pretty advanced bit of kit the set up is straightforward.  The set-up wizard will guide you through the whole process of accessing your network, scanning the airwaves for FM and DAB signals, and generally getting you up and running with little fuss.  If you want to do this manually the Stream 93i comes with a comprehensive instruction booklet and troubleshooting guide should you run into issues.

The Roberts Stream 93i sounds really good, as anyone with an existing Roberts radio will expect. Roberts has managed to combine a clear midrange with a bright treble, and a rich and powerful bass,  a signature feature of Roberts radios.  Roberts have once again managed to blend together all tones to make a really enjoyable listen both with music and voice radio.

With the global reach of internet radio you will have no issues finding stations that cater for all tastes.  The radio comes with 40 available presets accessible via the buttons on the front of the radio and via the menu.  The five preset buttons work for both FM and DAB, so you can have five go-to stations for each.

Radio reception is excellent and we experienced no drop outs of signal or buffering using FM, DAB or Internet stations.

The Roberts Stream 93i can play MP3, WMA, AAC, FLAC and WAV music formats but some of the high-res formats are not currently supported but may become so with future software updates.

Verdict

This Roberts Stream 93i is a beautiful radio with great functionality. It works great as a radio, music player and Spotify Connect streamer.  The sound quality is excellent, the engineering is beautiful and the interface is clear and intuitive.  At its current price you will not find a better all in one radio.
